The Kalahari refuses to acknowledge that May is the beginning of the winter. Temperatures dip to 5 degrees Celsius at sunrise but by noon the birds and game flock to waterholes to refresh themselves in the afternoon heat close to 30 degrees. The lovely spoonbill and majestic bateleur were seen at Totti Totti by Jacobus on a morning game drive.
